Consultant - CHAN Kee Huen, Michael

Michael K. H. Chan is the Chief Executive of C&C Advisory Services Limited, an associated company of Cheng & Cheng Limited (C&C). He has over 30 years' experience in auditing, IT auditing, training, financial management, corporate secretarial and administration, MIS management, internal auditing, information security, compliance and enterprise risk management.

Michael graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic (now known as The Hong Kong Polytechnic University) in 1976 and spent 10 years with Coopers & Lybrand (in Hong Kong and England) before migrating to Australia. He returned to Hong Kong in 1988 and joined the Audit Division of Pricewaterhouse as a Senior Manager.

Other than working for professional accounting firms, Michael took up various senior positions with a number of multi-national companies including the EDP Manager of Lego Australia, Financial Controller of Jardine Life Assurance Limited, Head of Internal Audit of Dao Heng Bank / Guoco Group Limited, Head of Compliance - Greater China of DBS Bank (Hong Kong) Limited, a position which he took up in 2003 after completion of the special assignment of running the Command Centre and the working team supporting the integration of DBS Bank Limited with the banks acquired in Hong Kong, Group Financial Controller of Lam Soon (Hong Kong) Limited before joining the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) as their Director, Quality Assurance in charge of Practice Review and Professional Standards Monitoring in 2006. Michael was the Head of Group Compliance of Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China, Limited prior to joining C&C.

Michael has been actively taking part in public services. He was a Representative of the Subsector of Accountancy of the HKSAR Election Committee from 1997 to 2006. He also served as a member of the Representative Election Committee of the HKSAR for the tenth and eleventh session of the National People's Congress of the PRC. Apart from that, he was an Elected Council Member of the HKICPA from 1998 to 2005 and the President of the Hong Kong Branch of CPA Australia (1997-1998). He also represented the HKICPA and served as a member of the Compliance Committee of the International Federation of Accountants in 2002.
